Fibromyalgia Introduction Series by Lotus Spring Acupuncture & Wellness Inc.
Imagine having the flu. The aches and pains follow a similar pattern due to the generalized immune response. Imagine the complete loss of energy, stiff neck, mental fogginess, and lethargic. This is essentially what is happening with the cause of fibromyalgia through immune hypersensitivity. The pain itself comes when the immune system perceives a pathogen. It responds with increased inflammatory cytokines, nitric oxide, and homocysteine levels. In simple terms, hypersensitivity reactions occur when the normally protective immune system responds abnormally, potentially harming the body. What this does is it increases nitric oxide around the areas of inflammation-causing muscle contraction similar to the way you might get a stiff neck when getting a common cold, limiting the LYMPHATIC drainage. This restriction can contribute to challenges with water retention and swelling. When this happens, you will either see an absence of sweating or sweating along the back of the neck.
This particular type of fibromyalgia pain wanders from place to place, as the non-specific immunity tries to respond specifically to the pathogen. When this pertinent roll reveals itself, people experience pain that changes with the seasons and maybe worse than during allergy or cold seasons. The pain tends to linger in the joints and upper back. And overall treatment strategies, 10 to introduce sweating and staying warm. People with this kind of pain benefit from saunas and immune therapies. The drainage massage has also been shown to be helpful in these cases. As an underlying strategy, we use plant-based therapies shown to regulate nitric oxide and water metabolism.
To really alleviate the pain from this stage it is essential to activate micro phases and regulate T cells, B cells, and NK cells. Antiviral, antibacterial and anti-fungal interventions may all be used so long as they don’t cause major distress or gut microbiota. It is also important during the stage to regulate bowel movements and protect the liver and the CNS. The key signs and symptoms that you may be experiencing can include; stiff neck and or frozen shoulder, swollen lymphatic tissue, chills, aches & tiredness.
